Catherine
Shoichet writes and edits breaking news stories for the CNN Wire in
Atlanta. She is fluent in Spanish and works closely with CNN en EspaƱol
to cover Latin America and immigration issues. Before coming to CNN in 2010, Catherine spent six months working in the Mexico City bureau of The Associated Press. As a reporter for four years at the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, she covered five tropical storms, two alligator attacks, one international real estate scam and countless county commission meetings. Catherine hails
from
the suburbs of
Detroit, where she got her first taste of journalism at her high school
newspaper. She graduated cum laude
from Harvard College in 2004 with an A.B. in History and
Literature, specializing in France and America. In 2009, she
graduated with an M.A. in political journalism from Columbia
University, where she received the Gray Fellowship for International
Reporting. Her work
also has appeared in the Atlanta
Journal-Constitution and The Chronicle of
Higher Education. |
